Just a quick rant–
I listened to Mike Wilbon say that Marion Jones playing in the WNBA was great for the sport. Seriously?
The WNBA, a sports league trying to garner fans and become a legitimate organization, is allowing a woman who hasn’t played organized basketball since the late 1990′s to play for the Tulsa Shock?
I’m happy that Jones was able to land a job after serving jail time, and I understand it’s a nice story from that perspective. Still, this kills the credibility of the WNBA. It’s like Nate Robinson deciding to play in the NFL in 2021 after he’s retired from basketball. Sure, he was good at football in high school, but would any pro football team take him? Sorry Kryptonate, No way.
